Deeraj Nankani is currently a Maritime Business and Logistics undergraduate at Plymouth University, graduating in summer 2018. Born and bred in Singapore, he has been exposed to the dynamics and opportunities of the maritime industry from an early age.
Residing from a diverse background, he was raised in Singapore, later sent to Bangalore, India for his pre-university education. Upon completion, he returned home to enlist in a two-year compulsory military service tour in the Singapore Armed Forces and later, started his degree in 2015. Through his academics and internship stints, Deeraj has realised his interest and area of development for practice to be Shipping Finance and Maritime Investment Banking. He has worked with TNT and interned with Pacific International Lines, Tradewinds and most recently, Norton Rose Fulbright in the area of Shipping Finance. Alongside his academics, he is currently studying for his Chartered Financial Analyst professional qualification.
Deeraj speaks fluent English and Malay, and conversational Hindi. In his free time, Deeraj enjoys Swimming of which he has achieved a ‘Gold Star’ award. He is also an active committee member of the Plymouth University Shipping Society.”
