Following on from last year’s inaugural port visit to Bristol, this we decided to venture to the North East of England to PD Teesport.
SPNL’ers enthusiastically journey a total of 13 hours (6.5 hours one way), to visit PD Teesport then meet North East England’s young professionals for what was the official launch of the SPN-NE (North East) branch!
Teesport, the North East based port, owned and operated by PD Ports. PD Ports has invested almost £17m in infrastructure improvements at Teesport in the last 18 months and we are keen to learn about the upgraded terminal facilities and to see the port from the River Tees. This visit provided a chance to get out “from behind the desk” for our members to gain insight into how the shipping industry works on a practical level. No doubt a unique opportunity to gain an exclusive insight to the North East’s port activities and meet like-minded shipping professionals.
