Event #39 AGM followed by Annual SUMMER DRINKS PARTY

15th August 2013 Location: Oyster Shed Sponsors: Maples and Cadler (Leading Law Firm) & The Cayman Islands Shipping Registry. We successfully held our 3rd AGM, where we elected our ‘new’ Board for 2013/4, and summed up the year that passed. Immediately thereafter, we proceeded to enjoy our traditional annual Summer Drinks at the Oyster Shed (**NEW SPNL VENUE**), situated on the river Thames with stunning views onto the Shard. This year we had an exotic twist, with both our co-sponsors having strong links with the Cayman Islands! The event was kindly sponsored by Maples & Calder and the Cayman Islands Shipping Registry Speakers: Barnabas Finnigan. Barnabas is a member of the Finance group at Maples and Calder in the Cayman Islands. He has experience in advising clients on a broad range of structured, project and asset finance transactions, including the use of Cayman Islands vehicles in repackaging structures. Barnabas has particular expertise acting for both financiers and borrowers in connection with shipping and aviation finance transactions, including ECA-backed financings, and dealing with local ship and aircraft registrations. Greg Evans, Director – Global Safety and Compliance, is a Chartered Marine Engineer with over 35 years’ experience, at sea as a Marine Engineer and ashore working for Lloyd’s Register and the Maritime Authority of the Cayman Islands. In his current role, he is responsible for the daily operations of Safety and Compliance throughout the Cayman Islands Shipping Registry’s global network of offices.
