BIMCO and SPNL at the International Maritime Organisation. We were very pleased to share with our members BIMCO’s invitation to the Networking Reception in the International Maritime Organisation’s World Maritime Day event at the IMO Headquarters in London on 28 September 2017. This year’s theme was “Connecting Ships, Ports and People”. Attending the World Maritime Day event gave us a rare opportunity to visit the IMO headquarters and see where regulations for the shipping industry are debated, developed and agreed. A keynote speech from the Secretary General of the IMO, Mr Kitack Lim given, and learnt about the workings of this global regulatory body.
