The Shipping Professional Network Hamburg (SPNH) hosted their 16th event on October 24th, 2019 in cooperation with Oldendorff Carriers GmbH & Co. KG and Bernhard Schulte GmbH & Co. KG – supported by speakers from Carnival Maritime GmbH and Hamburg School of Business Administration on the topic of “Beyond 2020 – Strategies for Greener Shipping”.
The guest speakers guided the roughly 50 participants through some of the theoretical and practical options that owners have in order to comply with MARPOL Annex VI, which limits sulphur content in marine bunker fuel to 0.5% (down from the current level of 3.5%) and will enter into force as of January 1st, 2020.
The event took place at the offices of Bernhard Schulte GmbH & Co. KG in Hamburg, to whom we want to extend our thanks, and covered the fields of scrubbers, LNG technology, fuel cells and wind propulsion.
