The Shipping Professional Network in London (SPNL) looking for enthusiastic, dedicated, and driven professionals to join the SPNL board, with exciting openings on our Events and Sponsorship teams.

These roles are perfect for ambitious maritime professionals who want to gain or expand their board-level experience while making a real impact in the industry. Joining the SPNL board not only strengthens your CV with valuable leadership and strategic experience but also connects you with a vibrant community of young professionals shaping the future of shipping.

As part of a dynamic and collaborative team, you’ll develop both operational and strategic skills, contribute to meaningful initiatives, and grow your professional network within the maritime sector.

Board Member (Sponsorship Team)

The Sponsorship Board Member will be assisting with maintaining and enhancing relationships with the current sponsors of the SPNL as well as looking to build new opportunities with organisations across the maritime industry.

Board Member (Events Team)

The Events Board Member will be part of the team managing SPNL events, with a focus on coordinating all logistical aspects of our monthly gatherings. This includes working closely with speakers and sponsors, contributing to event strategy and promotional content, and actively engaging with young shipping professionals through effective use of social media and outreach initiatives.

The SPNL Board is diverse and composed of maritime professionals of all sectors and backgrounds. The SPNL is run by a team of shipping professionals in their ‘spare time’ (in parallel to our professional careers) and serving on the board will require your attendance at meetings and events in London (mostly outside working hours), so residence near London is required.

Please briefly explain why you are interested in joining the board.
You will then receive full job descriptions and an application form to be completed and submitted together with your CV.
Each application will be reviewed by the SPNL Election Committee which will then contact you in due course.
Please note that anyone wishing to apply for a board role must ensure that their SPNL membership is ‘current’ – if in doubt, please check by logging into your account via the SPNL website.
