Lorenzo Casarosa

Lorenzo is a Chartered Engineer with more than 22 years’ business experience gained by working in various leadership roles in the Public Sector, in the Defence, Renewable Energy, Maritime and Oil&Gas industries and in Academia.
Prior to joining DNV GL in early 2008, he has been an Officer in the Italian Navy for nine years, an International Observer for the United Nations (IMO) for six, a Principal Advisor to the Italian Parliament for five and a Researcher at University College London for three.

In DNV GL, Lorenzo has worked in London, Oslo and Singapore and managed large multidisciplinary project teams in delivering a wide range of major management consultancy and technical advisory engagements including: energy management, governmental policy and strategy, business performance improvement, LNG as the next generation maritime fuel, qualification of innovative technologies for wave energy generation and development of strategies and solutions for O&M of far-offshore wind farms.

Lorenzo has a PhD in Naval Architecture from UCL and read executive MBA courses in Strategy, Innovation, Technology and Growth Management at London Business School. Prior to his education in the UK, he studied Naval Architecture, Marine & Environmental Engineering and Business Administration at University of Trieste (Italy), and Diplomatic and Military Science at the Italian Naval Academy.


Lorenzo is a founding member of the SPNL.
