We, Shipping Professional Network in Hamburg e.V. (SPNH), are committed to processing personal data transparently and respectfully regarding your data protection rights. This statement explains how we, as the responsible and accountable data controller, deal with personal data.

(b) Type of personal data processed
We process your personal data when you provide it to us, for example by handing in your business card or when you correspond with us to become a supporter of SPNH. Typically, such data consists of your contact details such as name, surname, company and position as well as e-mail address.
(c) Purpose of processing personal data
We may process your personal data according to Art. 5(1)(b) GDPR for the purpose of inter alia
(i) corresponding with you to exchange information and experience,
(ii) keeping you informed about our events,
(iii) building a network within the maritime industry
(iv) similar acts in accordance with the statutes of SPNH
(d) Legal grounds for processing data
The European General Data Protection Regulation and the German Data Protection Act set out various legal grounds on which personal data may legitimately be processed. Our processing is either on the basis of your consent (as per Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) or where such processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are party (event sponsor) or intend to become party (as per Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Your personal data might be provided to third parties, in particular, other participants at our events when this sharing of data helps the purpose of building and maintaining a network in the shipping industry.
We will not otherwise share your personal data without your consent.

As part of our commitment to process personal data in a fair and transparent manner, we set out further information for you below:
(a) Length of storage
We store personal data for as long as we have not received your explicit instruction to delete your data from our data base.
(b) Personal rights regarding data
You can ask us to have access to the personal data we hold about you, have your data corrected or erased or object to processing in whole or in part, and be given your data in a portable format. If you preferred not to receive any further notifications from us, you may notify us of this and we shall not send you any such notifications without your consent.
(c) Withdrawal of consent to processing of data
If you do not wish to receive general information from us, please let us know and we will not send you any such general information thereafter without your explicit consent. If you wish to object to a certain kind of processing to which you have previously consented, you can at any time withdraw your consent for the future in the same manner as you initially gave it.
