The SPNL is proud to announce the inaugural ” SPNL Graduation Award “ to the top Plymouth University Student.
The ceremony was held at Plymouth University September 15th in recognition of the top dissertation in the field of maritime-related business.
SPNL Chairman Claudio Chiste, awarded the accolade to Ms Fern Rogers, BSc (Hons) Maritime Business & Maritime Law for her dissertation on the topic of the UK Tonnage Tax.
Fern said ” My dissertation involved collecting views and opinions regarding how experts within the shipping industry viewed the current taxation system and attending an SPNL event provided the perfect platform to network, gain vital contacts and to get a sense of the overall mood of the industry”.
Fern recently secured a post with the West England P&I Club and will join their London offices in October.
Plymouth University was recently admitted to “Maritime London”, serving as recognition of their contribution to – as well as being part of the “London Maritime Cluster”.
