We are looking for hard-working and committed new board members for the ‘Events Associate’, ‘Members Associate’ and ‘Treasurer‘ roles.
This role is for an ambitious maritime professional who may have or is willing to gain board experience with the Shipping Professional Network in London, a not-for-profit successful shipping venture.
The Events Associate will be primarily assisting with the SPNL events with the responsibilities including organising venues and catering, liaising with speakers and sponsors of the events, preparing name badges, welcoming delegates and guests and closing the events.
The Membership Associate will be responsible for any membership enquiries that may arise throughout the year, working closely with our IT support team as well as assisting at the SPNL Events. The successful candidate will also be in charge of increasing membership levels across the whole spectrum of the London shipping industry.
The Treasurer is in charge of ensuring that proper accounting records are kept which show and explain the company’s transactions, while preparing Management Accounts (Balance Sheet and Income Statement) on a quarterly basis following the quarters of the calendar year.

SPNL Board is diverse and composed of Maritime Professionals of all sectors and backgrounds. SPNL is run by a team of shipping professionals in their “spare time” (in parallel to our professional careers). Serving on the board will require your attendance at meetings and events (mostly outside working hours).
