The Shipping Professional Network in London (SPNL) is delighted to announce that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Young Baltic Exchange Association (YBA) to work closely together on social events and educational initiatives as well as share invitations to various events.
In normal years, the YBA hosts social events in London, Singapore, Shanghai and other shipping centres as well as contributing teams to the Baltic’s many sporting society events. For the past four years it has also run an extremely popular annual lecture series held currently online, in collaboration with the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers.
The SPNL hosts a series of seminars, forums and social events and has built up a strong following in London as well as being part of an international affiliation of shipping professional network organisations around the world.
There is little overlap between the role of both organisations in London and yet each has a shared aim of promoting the networking opportunities for younger members of the industry and reinforcing their professional development. The aim is to capitalise on opportunities generated by both organisations and to share more of the benefits being provided. At the same time both organisations will retain their own separate identities and remit within the shipping sector.
